Frankies Column - January 2008Dear Reader Happy New Year. It only seems like a short while ago that we were discussing this Summer’s weather and nowWinter is well and truly here. The Lancaster Ballroom at the Savoy, a Fairmont Hotel was the sumptuous setting for a Frank Usher Fashion Show for the 1230 Womens Company, a networking association for entrepreneurial women in the UK, held in aid of Ovacome. Actress Jenny Agutter, a Patron of Ovacome, gave a moving speech about the Charity and then told the audience of two hundred ladies some amusing anecdotes about her leading men. She looked lovely in a Frank Usher black party dress with ivory embroidery. Kate Ford wore a stunning Frank Usher dress for the press launch of the Ortak Jewellery range, which is manufactured in the Royal and Ancient Burgh of Kirkwall, the capital of the Orkney Islands. (Featured photo) Broadcaster Emma Forbes joined forces with QVC presenters, Claudia Sylvester, Anne Dawson and Debbie Greenwood for the star studded QVC event at the Grosvenor House in London, in aid of Breast Cancer Care, wearing their fabulous Frank Usher and Dusk evening gowns. I attended a fabulous Livery Banquet for the Worshipful Company of Marketors, at the Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of the City of London. The event was held in the Egyptian Hall and guests were greeted by a fanfare from the British Airways brass band. It was such a glamorous occasion with the gentlemen in white tie and tails and the ladies in full eveningwear, I counted lots of Frank Usher gowns! including my beautifully cut black jersey evening dress. Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal wore a beautifully tailored black dress and jacket from the Coterie collection to attend the moving concert for the Royal British Legion at the Royal Albert Hall in November. |
